Email marketing is by no means a new concept, but many companies are not yet embracing this marketing strategy as much as they should. There are many concerns that accompany email marketing, such as:

- In the end, will it help my business?
Some companies will say that the time allotted to email marketing isn't worth it and that the profits they could make from it don't even start to pay for the time they put in. The truth is, when it comes to marketing, many studies have revealed that email marketing works better than other marketing methods, including using social media. This does not mean rejecting other marketing methods, because a healthy marketing plan is one that makes use of various marketing techniques to complete marketing objectives.
How does email marketing work?
It's best to think of email marketing like any other marketing method, except for the use of paper, printer, and ink. An email containing what is usually mailed or can be sent as postcards to announce a new item, a new upcoming sale, or even give coupons to valued customers. The path they take is to get email addresses of existing customers and potential customers. The best way to do this is to have an opt-in form on your website. For instance, a call-to-action box that allows customers or prospects to sign up for email offers. This will allow you to legally obtain and use the email address to send email marketing materials via your email marketing tool.
There are companies that offer mass email lists. There are risks in this that should be discussed. You should understand that you can only send emails to those to who have granted you permission to send this email. Therefore, buying email addresses is not always the best way to go. Note that the United States has the CAN-SPAM Act, enacted in 2003, which makes clear what companies can and cannot do in email marketing.
When sending email marketing materials, there are a few rules to bear in mind:
a) Always make sure that your subject line conveys what you are writing and is not in any way misleading or false.
b) Also make sure to tag "From and to" are correctly labeled, also make sure that your name or the name of your company is on the mail so that readers can tell who sent the email.
c) At the end of the email there should be a link to unsubscribe. You should give your readers the option to stop receiving marketing emails if they choose.
d) All emails sent as advertising must include this contact information. Also, there should be a physical business address listed in the email.
Companies found guilty of misusing email marketing strategies can be fined over $ 10,000. Worse still, they may lose the right to send emails or even lose the right to own a website due to the infringement.
